For sale is a 14k yellow gold Burmese star ruby ring.  This is an antique ring made in Burma in the 19th century.  The star ruby is a wonderful deep, velvety grape purple.  It displays a beautiful six rayed star in sunlight or bright light.  In dim light it has a lovely glow.  The gemstone has natural inclusions and imperfections, but no damage, cracks or chips.  The band of the ring is narrow and measures down to 1.5mm in the back.  During the Victorian era and before, a ring like this would only have been taken out and worn on very special occasions, and wasn't crafted for daily use.  This is an elegant, romantic and beautifully crafted antique star ruby ring.

***The ring is part of a set including a star ruby pendant and earrings (see last photo.)  The pendant and earrings are not included in this sale, but are available for purchase separately in my ebay store.
