10k Yellow Gold Star Sapphire Victorian Festoon Necklace. 8g

For sale is a 14k yellow gold festoon necklace with natural black star sapphires.  This is a stunning antique Victorian necklace in excellent condition. The necklace features five oval star sapphires arranged at intervals around the front of the chain.  The sapphires are alternated with tiny gold flowers, each set at the center of a round disk of gold.  The necklace features a centerpiece that dangles down. The centerpiece features a larger round star sapphire that dangles in the middle of a gold heart.  The star sapphires are a deep shade of chocolate brown/black.  Each sapphire displays a clear rayed star in sunlight.  In dim light the sapphires display a more diffuse asterism or "glow." Each star sapphire is secure in a hand-crafted bezel setting.  The back of each stone is visible from the back of the necklace. This is a regal necklace with elegant Victorian charm.

The item shows normal wear for a pre-owned piece (light scratches, dings, dents and scuff marks.)
