This stunning natural star ruby ring features an exceptionally large oval cabochon in an ethereal shade of pinkish purple. The opaque ruby displays a lovely six-rayed star in bright light and takes on a soft, mysterious glow in dimmer lighting. Rubies are actually members of the sapphire family, both being varieties of the mineral corundum!
The ruby has fascinating natural inclusions and surface imperfections, including visible crystalline structures that add to its unique character. Please see magnified photos.
The gemstone is securely held in a hand-crafted silver bezel setting that rises approximately 8–9mm above the finger. Both the sides of the bezel and the band are decorated with intricate hand-carved tribal patterns, giving this ring a wonderful artisan feel.
