Real SCARAB in Gold-Tone Metal Pendant. Victorian *Video*

For sale is a very unusual piece: a real scarab set in a large Victorian era scarab pendant. Scarab jewelry was very popular during the Egyptian Revival period during the Victorian era. In ancient Egypt, scarabs were important symbols of rebirth and resurrection, as well as good luck and fortune.

The natural scarab is in good condition with the lovely iridescent green shell that makes these ancient creatures so captivating. The artist has set the natural scarab in the back of a beautifully crafted large scarab pendant with and delicate details including curved legs and tiny pointed pincers. The scarab has symbols carved underneath her head. The pendant has a large attached bail to accommodate your chain.
