Purple Star Sapphire / Ruby Pendant in Sterling Silver. 1.5" + 18g *Video*

For sale is a hand-crafted sterling silver pendant with a large, natural star ruby. This beautifully made pendant features an oval star ruby that is opaque with a rich shade of grape purple. The ruby displays a full six-rayed star in bright light. In dimmer light you will see a glowing asterism. As you may know, a star ruby is another name for a red star sapphire!

You can see the crystalline structure of the ruby, which tells you the ruby is a natural, earth-mined gemstone. The ruby also displays natural inclusions and imperfections. There is a faint curved line that runs north-south within the stone. This is not a break or crack - just a naturally occurring color pattern in the stone. Please see magnified photos and video for the most accurate view of the ruby. The stone has no cracks, chips or damage.   

The ruby is secure in a hand-crafted silver bezel setting, and set in a wide, slightly domed silver frame. The underside of the ruby is visible from the back of the pendant. The pendant has an 1/2 inch articulated bail that is large enough to accommodate almost any chain. This is a well-crafted, elegant pendant with a lovely star ruby. It is rare to find a natural star ruby in silver, which makes this an unusually affordable purchase!
