Mexican Fire Jelly Opal Old Pawn Silver Ring *Video*

For sale is a Mexican fire jelly opal ring in sterling silver. This is an "old pawn" silver ring with the classic feather mounting. The ring features pale terracotta matrix surrounding a pool of jelly opal that is translucent orange with splashes of colorful pinfire. You will see spots of cherry red, sky blue, lime green, tangerine, yellow, purple and fuchsia.

The opal is secure in a hand-crafted crown mounting. The ring has split shanks than narrow to a half-round band in the back. The silver frame has a cut-out tribal design that is elegant and simple. This ring combines the otherworldly beauty of the opal with a beautifully design. Lovely!

Mexican opal rings used to be plentiful, and were popular tourist souvenirs.  However, these lovely boulder opals are no longer being mined in Mexico and are increasingly hard to find.  They will increase in value with time.
