Lavender Gray Star Sapphire in Sterling Silver Silver Ring *Video*

This gorgeous vintage natural star sapphire signet ring features an unusually large oval cabochon with a beautiful six-rayed star! The sapphire is an ethereal shade of silvery gray with subtle lavender undertones. In bright light, a distinct six-rayed star dances across the surface, while in dimmer light the gemstone takes on a lovely, soft glow.

The natural sapphire has fascinating internal characteristics, including delicate feather-like inclusions and a small tan spot near the center. The stone also shows signs of age, including surface scratches, scuffs, tiny fleabites around the edges, and a pinprick-sized pit. Please see magnified photos.

The sapphire is securely held in a simple bezel setting surrounded by the broad, gently sloping shoulders of a classic silver signet ring. The setting shows some wear to the silver along one edge above the stone and on the inside of the band.
