Ethiopian Welo Jelly Opal Art Deco Style Festoon Collar Bib Necklace *Video*

For sale is an Art Deco style necklace in 925 with Ethiopian Welo jelly opals. This elegant necklace is sometimes called a collar, bib or festoon necklace. It features a 2.15 inch wide panel set with oval cabochon opals. The opals are translucent with swirling inner fire in the light. Each opal is bezel set and backed in silver to deepen the color. A large oval opal is set at the center of the bib, surrounded by scalloped silver flower petals. Smaller opals are set around the flower.

Curving bands of silver arch out to connect with the chain on each edge of the bib. Three opals are attached to the underside of each curved band. Two opals dangle below the bib on each side, one oval and one teardrop shaped. The chain fastens with a spring ring clasp. The silver has a darkened patina. This can easily be removed with polish by the buyer if preferred. This is a colorful, large, stunning necklace that will attract a lot of attention when you wear it.
