10k Yellow Gold Cameo Hypnotized Maiden Levitating Pendant.

For sale is a 10k yellow gold marquise-shaped cameo pendant with a young woman being levitated during hypnosis.   This pendant recalls the popular fascination with all things occult during the Gothic Victorian era. This unusual pendant is beautifully hand-carved in natural shell.  The cameo has a tan background with the profile of a woman in raised creamy white shell. The woman is shown eerily floating as if in a hypnotized state.  Her hair trails behind her, and the diaphanous fabric of her dress swings below her body.  Her arm dangles behind her torso as she is uplifted.  The cameo is bezel set in gold with a twisted rope pattern.  The pendant has an articulated bail to accommodate your chain.  This is a beautifully crafted, unusual antique cameo pendant. 

The item shows normal wear for a pre-owned piece (light scratches, dings, dents and scuff marks.)
