Australian Boulder Opal Carved Bunny Rabbit for Pendant. 2" *Video*

For sale is an Australian boulder opal carved in the shape of a rabbit.  This opal was mined in the Koroit opal fields in Australia.  The opal is spectacular.  The boulder is variegated chocolate brown and tan, and is visible around the edges of the opal.  The opal forms semi-translucent pools of purple, lavender and blue towards the center of the opal.  The rabbit is large (about 2" in length) and body is intricately carved on both sides. The rabbit is nibbling a a small piece of fruit, and her paws are beautifully depicted as they grasp the little berry.  Her curving ears, facial features, and textured fur are all carefully carved on both sides of the gemstone.  This carving can be enjoyed as a talisman, or your jeweler can set it for you as a lovely pendant.  Hand-carving gemstones is an art that is almost extinct at this point in time.  A carved opal such as this is no longer being produced anywhere in the world!  

The item shows normal wear for a pre-owned piece (light scratches, dings, dents and scuff marks.)
