14k + 925 Australian Koriot Boulder Opal Earrings. Purples! **Video**

For sale is a pair of Australian Koroit boulder opal earrings.  These opals were mined in the Koroit opal mines in South Australia. The Koroit opal field is an opal mining area in Paroo Shire in South West Queensland, Australia. This type of opal is composed of dark matrix (or boulder) with veins of rainbow opalescence that run through the matrix.  These opals are often subtle in dim light, but flash with vibrant color in sunlight or bright indoor light.  Each of the opals in these earrings has rich reddish chocolate matrix with large, wide veins of lavender and purple jelly opal.  One opal has a large lake of opalescence at the center.  The other opal has two parallel rivers of opalescence running across the middle of the stone.  These opals are beads, drilled through the center.  Each opal dangles from a silver bead accented with a small square of solid 14k gold. The gold has a raised rectangular pattern, similar to a Greek key design.  These are unusual opal bead earrings with lovely vibrance and fire.  

The item shows normal wear for a pre-owned piece (light scratches, dings, dents and scuff marks.)
