10K Gold Victorian Mother-Daughter 2-Sided Portrait Pendant. Sepia

For sale is a solid 10k yellow gold pendant featuring black and sepia portraits of both a mother and daughter on each side.   This masterfully crafted antique pendant was created during the Victorian era.  It may have been created as a mourning pendant, or it might simply have been made in honor of a much beloved wife and child.  The pendant has glass windows on both sides that are in good condition.  Mother and child are clearly related, and both have a sweetness that captures your attention and imagination.  The little girl has brunette curls, and wears a sweet, slightly wistful expression.  Her mother wears her curly brunette hair swept up, and her upright posture indicates an inner strength and poise.   The edges of the pendant have an elaborate repousse design.  This lovely antique locket has a large jump ring bail to accommodate your chain.
