14k Yellow Rose Gold Irish Connemara Marble Shamrock Pendant. 1"

For sale is a small 14k yellow gold shamrock pendant with Connemara Marble from Ireland.  This beautifully crafted antique pendant was purchased as a souvenir of the Connemara Marble mines in Ireland.   Connemara marble is an extremely rare form of green marble only found in a few districts in Ireland.  It is quite rare to find this type of marble set in solid gold, as this pendant is.  The pendant features three heart shaped clover "leaves" that are beautifully inlaid in yellow gold. The shamrock also has a stem.  The shamrock is backed in solid gold with a rough texture.   The marble is a dark shade of moss green with darker spinach green variations in color.  There are some "flea bite" nibbles to the edges of the marble hearts.  I have included a magnified photo with an angled view of the surface of the stone to allow you to see this.  The pendant has a jump ring bail to accommodate your chain.  This pendant is a delightful reminder of home for all those hailing from Ireland, as well as for those of us who simply love all things Irish!

Connemara marble or "Irish green" is a rare variety of marble found in Connemara, Ireland with a distinct green color. It is commonly used as a gemstone and for decorations. Due to its colouration, it is commonly associated with the Irish identity. It strongly resembles the verd antique found in the Mediterranean. It is named after the region in the western part of the country in which it is quarried.

The item shows normal wear for a pre-owned piece (light scratches, dings, dents and scuff marks.)
