14k Yellow Gold Lapis Lazuli Antique Egypt Scarab Spider Ring

For sale is a 14k yellow gold scarab ring with lapis lazuli and pink rhodonite.  This antique ring was crafted in Egypt where the scarab has special significance as a symbol of immortality and transformation.  The ring has a large rectangular shield design.  The three dimensional scarab rests on top of the large, flat rectangle of gold.  The scarab's head is crafted from a bezel set oval of lapis lazuli.  The lapis is a rich shade of midnight blue with a sprinkling of glittering gold pyrite.  The two wings covering the scarab's body are made from pink rhodonite, which is a rich shade of rose pink with a spiderweb of black manganese oxide veins.  Each gemstone is slightly domed and secure in a raised bezel setting.  The scarab's ridged front legs and angular back legs are all depicted in thick raised gold.  The ring has lots of gold and feels wonderful and heavy on the finger.  The gemstone colors harmonize handsomely in the beautifully crafted antique ring.  This unusual ring would be equally attractive worn by a man or a woman.
