For sale is an 18k yellow gold and sterling silver ring with a natural ammolite fossil.  The ammolite has great fire and displays a neon flash of colors as you move it in the light.  The primary colors are reds/oranges and greens/yellows.  Like all ammolite jewelry, this fossil is backed with a piece of onyx for protection.  The ammolite is an east-west oval, and is bezel-set, completely framed in 18k gold.  The ammolite is also backed in a square of hammered 18k gold.  The ring is a wide, signet style, with a slightly curved, thick band.  The ring has resin on top of the 18k gold, behind the ammolite.  The resin is not visible when the ring is worn, and it adds an extra level of water-resistance for this delicate fossil.  This large, vibrantly colorful ring could be worn equally beautifully by a man or a woman.

The ring has no damage and shows normal wear (light scratches and scuff marks.)


Ammolite is a fascinating gemstone, made from the fossilized bodies of "ammonites", sea creatures that lived in the oceans from 65-240 million years ago.  These fossils are found in the Rocky Mountains of North America. When you wear an ammolite you are truly wearing a piece of America's natural history!
