For sale is a pair of 14k yellow gold Alaskan gold-in-quartz "mermaid tail" leverback earrings.  These designer made earrings bear the maker's mark, a capital cursive letter "A." Alaskan gold-in-quartz is sometimes called "gold quartz" or "gold-bearing quartz."  It is very rare and has become increasingly valuable in recent years.  It features creamy white quartz with 24k yellow gold veins running through it.  These earrings are designed as mermaid or whale tails that are each set with two pieces of gold quartz.  The quartz has gleaming gold veins, and is securely channel set flush with the surface of the gold.  The earrings dangle from leverbacks that fasten securely.  These wonderful, unusual earrings are not only beautiful and versatile, but are also a wise investment that will increase in value over time.
