14k Gold Carved Cabochon Amethyst Drop Pendant Necklace. Antique

For sale is a 14k yellow gold lavaliere necklace with carved amethyst and pearls.  This unusual and vibrant antique necklace features a beautifully hand-crafted link chain with two carved cabochon amethyst gemstones.  Each amethyst is a cabochon (no facets) that the artisan has hand-cut with symmetric grooves.  This is often called a melon-cut.  The oval amethyst is prong set on top of a gold frame.   The larger amethyst dangles below.  This large amethyst droplet is translucent with stunning lavender-purple color.  This droplet has a thick cap of gold at the top.  Three round, lustrous white pearls add elegance to the design of this elegant necklace.  The amethysts appear slightly darker purple in dim light, and lighter lavender in brighter light.  The necklace fastens with a spring ring clasp that fastens securely.  These lovely carved amethyst gemstones are truly a joy to look at.  You will enjoy wearing this necklace with both casual and formal outfits.  This pendant will be particularly stunning worn with shades of purple and blue.
