14k Yellow Gold Crescent Moon Lily-Of-The-Valley Pearl Pendant. Honeymoon!

For sale is a 14k yellow rose gold "honeymoon" pendant; a crescent moon decorated with a garland of tiny pearls and a stalk of pearl-studded lily of the valley flowers.  I had my jeweler add a hidden bail to the original antique brooch so it could be worn and enjoyed.  Honeymoon pendants were popular during the Romantic Period during the Victorian era.  A groom would make a gift of the pin or pendant to his bride on their honeymoon.  The pendant was considered a romantic play on words:  flowers represent the word "honey" and the crescent moon symbolized the word "moon."  Together, they make "honeymoon"!  This pendant features a crescent moon that is draped with an elegant, curving stalk of lily of the valley.  Each tiny flower blossom is set with a teeny tiny round cream colored natural pearl.  The pearls glow with a lovely sheen and have intact, undamaged nacre.  The gold on this pendant has a rosey hue, common during this era.  This pendant has a slide-style bail hidden in back to accommodate your chain. The pendant would look lovely with pearl or diamond earrings.  The pendant also would look lovely layered with other period pendants, like garnets, cameos, or moonstones.

The item shows normal wear for a pre-owned piece (light scratches, dings, dents and scuff marks.)
