14k White Gold Moonstone "Man in Moon" Ring w Sapphires *Video*

For sale is a 14k white gold carved moonstone "man in the moon" ring with blue sapphires.  This Victorian era antique features a slightly domed moonstone that is hand-carved with a man-in-the-moon face. Mr. Moon wears a sardonic expression with wide-open eyes and a gently curving smile.  The ring was clearly much-loved and worn frequently, and the facial features have noticable wear.  The moonstone is secure in a hand-crafted bezel setting.  The moonstone is set at the center of a shield-style ring with four small round blue sapphires at each corner.  The sapphires are prong set in recessed gold and framed in milgrain.  The top of the shield is engraved with an elegant design.  The ring has engraved shoulder.  The ring is a simple polished half-round band in the back.  This ring is currently a size 8 and can be resized by your jeweler at a reasonable cost. The ring can be worn by a man or a woman.  This ring is quite unusual.  Most antique "man in the moon" carved moonstone rings feature a simple bezel design.  You will not find another ring quite like this!
