10k Yellow Gold Carved Onyx & Pearl Flower MOURNING Earrings

For sale is a pair of 10k yellow gold carved onyx flower earrings with tiny seed pearls. During Victorian times, mourning jewelry was traditionally worn by widows or mothers who lost loved ones to signal this important period of grief and loss.  Each antique earring features a black onyx violet that is beautifully carved with three dimensional petals.  Each flower has a tiny round seed pearl at the center.  Each pearl is securely set in a hand-crafted prong mounting. The earrings fasten with 10k safety backs that screw on securely.  These beautifully crafted, elegant earrings combine beautifully with other Victorian pieces, especially with diamond, garnet, cameo, and pearl jewelry.
