For sale is a pair of Australian pinfire opal earrings in sterling silver.  The opals were mined in the Lightning Ridge opal fields in New South Wales Australia.  The opals are milky white with ghostly flashes of opalescence. In dim light the earrings are very subtle.  However in sunlight or bright artificial light, the opals flash with wisps of ethereal lavender, green, and blue fire.  The earrings have a bold, sculpted look.  Each earring features a large oval opal that is bezel set in a column of silver.  The opals are backed in silver.  The opals cannot be seen from the back of the earrings.  Each earring has a Bali bead at the top, and fastens with a shepherd's hook closure.  These are lovely large opals in a bold modern setting.
