Australian Jelly Opal Signet Ring. 15mm + 5g *Video*

For sale is a stunning Lightning Ridge Australian opal ring, featuring a large, luminous natural opal in a bold sterling silver signet-style setting.

The opal is absolutely mesmerizing. It is semi-translucent with wonderful play of color that shifts as the ring moves in the light. Bright neon greens and electric blues mingle with softer flashes of lavender and purple, giving the stone an almost ethereal glow. In dimmer light the opal is more subtle and mysterious, but bring it into bright light and the colors truly come alive.

The large oval opal is securely set into the broad face of a substantial signet-style silver ring. The silver rises smoothly around the stone to form a simple bezel, allowing the spectacular opal to remain the undisputed star of the show. The wide shoulders taper gradually into a narrower band at the back, making this dramatic ring comfortable and wearable.

The silver has developed a dark natural patina, which gives the ring a wonderful moody, time-worn character and contrasts beautifully with the luminous opal. The patina can, of course, be polished away if you prefer a brighter silver finish.

Please note that this is a vintage piece and shows its history. There are scuffs and scratches on the surface of the opal, as visible in our magnified photographs. The band has also been resized in the past, leaving a visible dark solder line at the back.
