Australian Boulder Opal Triplet Ring. 7/8" Unusual! *Video*

At first glance, it looks like a dramatic Koroit-style opal, with electric ribbons of color flashing through an inky black matrix. Look closer, and the magic reveals itself. This clever triplet has been artistically altered: the underside of the clear quartz cap appears to have been darkened, then selectively removed so the natural opal glows through in luminous veins, creating bold contrast and striking depth. The effect is mesmerizing.

The large, slightly domed oval opal shows a terrific range of color—cherry reds, vivid blues, and vibrant greens that ignite in bright light, while remaining moody and subtle in dimmer settings. It’s securely prong set in an elaborate, sculptural ring, finished with curving, scalloped edges that frame the stone beautifully. The band narrows at the back for comfortable wear.

The metal is silver in color, though it does not appear to be sterling silver, adding to the mystery and individuality of the piece. As with all opal triplets, we recommend avoiding immersion in water to protect the stone.
