Australian Boulder Opal Pendant in 925 w Chain. 3" + 58g *Video*

For sale is an extraordinary opal necklace. The pendant features a very large Australian boulder opal pendant with a hand-crafted, modern design. The gemstone is a large boulder that is covered in a thick layer of milky translucent opal.

The variegated chocolate and tan boulder forms small islands in the opal. The opal flashes with tiny pinpricks of green and blue fire, and wisps of ghostly purple as you move it in the light. The opal appears medium blue indoors and paler blue in the direct sunlight (see photos.)

This opal is not as colorful or fire-y as some boulder opals, but its beauty lies both in its unusual large size, and in the subtle play of pinfire in the light. The opal is suspended from a silver tube that is drilled into the stone. This unusual opal would be stunning worn by either a man or a woman.
