For sale is an absolutely spectacular sterling silver pendant featuring two large natural Australian Koroit boulder opals. You will rarely find a finer example of Koroit opal at this price—the combination of extraordinary natural patterns, rich earthy matrix and electric flashes of color is simply mesmerizing.

These opals come from the Koroit opal field, a remote mining area in the Paroo Shire of southwest Queensland, Australia, famous for boulder opals with wonderfully distinctive patterns of precious opal running through their natural ironstone matrix.

The upper opal is a large, softly rounded triangle with a variegated chocolate brown to warm tan matrix. Tiny veins of brilliant opal meander and spiderweb across its surface, flashing vibrant turquoise, lime green, purple, lavender and blue as the pendant moves. Every little fissure seems to hold another surprise of color.

Suspended below is a beautifully contrasting oval Koroit opal. Its dark chocolate brown matrix contains an especially unusual pattern of opalescence, including a swirling pool of vivid blue-green fire, a smaller puddle of color and a thick glowing vein. The natural patterns almost resemble tiny abstract landscapes captured inside the stone.

Both opals are securely held in individually hand-crafted sterling silver bezel settings. Turn the pendant over and the backs of the stones remain visible, allowing you to appreciate the natural boulder opal from both sides. A large articulated sterling silver bail at the top provides plenty of room to accommodate your chain.
