For sale is an Australian black boulder opal pendant in sterling. This is a huge, stunning pendant.  It is made in the old pawn style, bezel set and framed in silver with twisted rope edging and a stamped design.  The opal itself was mined in the Koroit opal field in the Queensland province of Australia.  This opal is large and five-sided.  It features chocolate brown matrix (potch/boulder) that is over-run with rivers, streams and lakes of colorful opalescence.  The opal has veins of purple and lavenders, as well as many shades blue and turquoise.  The larger pool of opalescence includes all these colors, plus flashes of vivid cherry red.  The opal is backed in silver with a large built-in slide bail to accommodate your chain.  This is a magnificent and vibrant Koroit opal, and its unusual large size makes it a very rare find.
