9k -10k Yellow Rose Gold Irish Connemara Marble Shamrock Pendant. 1"_21_136

For sale is a large 1" 9k-10k yellow rose gold shamrock pendant with Connemara Marble from Ireland.  This beautifully crafted Victorian era antique pendant was purchased as a souvenir of the Connemara Marble mines in Ireland.  The inscription on the back tells us it was purchased for "J" from "Dad" while on a tour of "Dublin" Ireland.  Connemara marble is an extremely rare form of green marble only found in a few districts in Ireland.  It is quite rare to find this type of marble set in solid gold, as this pendant is.  The pendant features three heart shaped clover "leaves" that are beautifully inlaid in yellow gold with a rosey hue. The shamrock also has a curving stem made of solid gold wire.  The shamrock is backed in solid gold, and inscribed from father to daughter.  The pendant is equally beautiful with the gold back facing forward, in my opinion.  The marble is a light shade of moss green with lighter green variations in color.  The surface of the marble is slightly uneven or "rough."  I have included a magnified photo with an angled view of the surface of the stone to allow you to see this.  The pendant has a small jump ring bail to accommodate your chain.  This pendant is a delightful reminder of home for all those hailing from Ireland, as well as for those of us who simply love all things Irish!

The item shows normal wear for a pre-owned piece (light scratches, dings, dents and scuff marks.)   

***I have labelled this 9k-10k because although the metal tests positive for 10k, I believe it to be 9k since that is the standard gold content for jewelry made in Ireland and the UK.
