9k -10k Gold Irish Connemara Marble Shamrock Clover Medallion Pendant

For sale is a stunning 9k-10k yellow rose gold shamrock pendant with Connemara Marble from Ireland. This beautifully crafted Victorian era antique pendant was purchased as a souvenir of the Connemara Marble mines in Ireland. Connemara marble is an extremely rare form of green marble only found in a few districts in Ireland. It is quite rare to find this type of marble set in solid gold, as this pendant is.

The pendant is a flat, round medallion with the clover at the center in raised gold. The clover is made from three heart shaped green marble clover "leaves" that are beautifully inlaid in yellow gold with a rosey hue. The shamrock also has a tiny stem. The outer edge of the pendant is engraved with an undulating knot pattern, like twisting rope.

The marble is the classic shade of moss green with lighter green variations in color. The surface of the marble is slightly uneven or "rough" in places, and there are some "flea bites" on the edges of the stone (Please see magnified photos.) The pendant has an articulated jump ring bail to accommodate your chain.

What a delightful reminder of home for all those hailing from Ireland, as well as for those of us who simply love all things Irish!

*The gold shows normal wear for a pre-owned piece (light scratches, dings, dents and scuff marks.)

***I have labelled this 9k-10k because although the metal tests positive for 10k, I believe it to be 9k since that is the standard gold content for jewelry made in Ireland and the UK.
