9k- 10k Gold African Animals Pendant w Diamond. Lion Elephant. 1.7" + 7g

For sale is an 9k-10k yellow gold pendant featuring the continent of Africa and five of its most celebrated animal species. Many of these are now endangered or threatened species. I have never seen a pendant like this one in many years of buying and selling vintage jewelry.

The pendant is large and beautifully crafted. The faces of five important African animals are set inside a gold frame in the shape of the African continent. The elephant has pride of place at the very bottom of the pendant. She is given a diamond eye to show respect for the size and majesty of this rare and beautiful species. Above the elephant the pendant pays homage to the African lion, rhinoceros, leopard and ox.

The head of each animal is beautifully rendered with wonderful details. The pendant has a large bail to accommodate most of the chains in your jewelry box. This pendant is remarkable and also rare. It will be a constant joy in your jewelry wardrobe.

The item shows normal wear for a pre-owned piece (light scratches, dings, dents and scuff marks.)   

**Note:  I list this item as "9k - 10k" gold because although it is stamped 9k gold, my US gold testing kit can't test for 9k. Using my US testing kit, the pendant tests positive for 10k gold.
