14k Gold Rose-Cut Diamond + Garnet Memento Mori Skulls Ring *Video*

For sale is an 14k yellow gold antique Memento Mori ring with rose-cut diamonds, garnets, and brass skulls. This Victorian era antique ring is beautifully crafted and stunning.  Memento mori rings were popular in the 17th century as mourning jewelry, to help the living to remember their loved ones who had departed.  By wearing this ring, a young widow could let everyone know that she was in mourning for her lost love. 

The ring is simply spectacular.  This is a bypass style ring with two tiny brass skulls at both ends.  Each skull is depicted in minute detail.  The skulls face different directions, each facing away from the band of the ring.  Two hand-cut garnets are set between the jawbones of each skull.  Each band of the bypass ring is set with four tiny rose-cut diamonds, just below each skull. 

The diamonds and garnets are all secure in recessed bezel settings.  The garnets appear dark in dim light, but gleam with rich pomegranate red color in the light.  This one of a kind ring is made with the finest quality materials and old-world craftsmanship.
