18k Gold Lion of Lucerne Pendant. Swiss Memorial of French Revolution

For sale is an 18k yellow gold pendant with sleeping lion.  This pendant is a tribute to the famous Swiss cave carving, the Lion of Lucerne.  The sculpture commemorates the Swiss soldiers who died in 1792 during the French Revolution.  The pendant features a sleeping lion, resting his head on one paw and his shield as he sleeps. His big shaggy mane, powerful body, strong legs, and curving tail are crafted with great care. 

The lion radiates a sense of power at rest. The lion rests on a rectangular solid gold platform.  The gold platform has the word "Lucerne" in raised gold letters on one side.  The pendant has an articulated jump ring bail to accommodate your chain.  This small pendant would look elegant worn alone, and can also be layered with other small pendants and chains. It is a lovely memento for those who love Switzerland, and also has wonderful sculptural beauty.

The item shows normal wear for a pre-owned piece (light scratches, dings, dents and scuff marks.)
