For sale is an 18k yellow ring from the designer Carrera y Carrera.

Carrera y Carrera, founded in Madrid in 1885 by Saturio Esteban Carrera, is one of the most prestigious Spanish jewelry houses in the world. Known for its highly sculptural miniature gold carvings, mythology- and nature-inspired themes, and its signature combination of matte and high-polish finishes, the brand has long been associated with exceptional craftsmanship. The house has created jewels for royalty — including a tiara designed for Queen Fabiola of Belgium in 1960 — and remains celebrated for its distinctive artistic style in 18k gold.

This ring is a numbered limited edition piece — now retired and no longer in circulation.

It is a sturdy, wide cigar band ring featuring a beautifully detailed repoussé scene that wraps 360 degrees around the band. The sculptural tableau depicts a lion and lioness with their two playful cubs. One cub mischievously bats at his father’s tail while the other reaches toward his mother’s ear — a tender and lively portrait of family life rendered in gold. The dimensional carving and textural contrast are classic Carrera y Carrera hallmarks.

Originally, the ring featured an open adjustable back. A previous owner chose to have it professionally soldered closed, creating a fixed size. During resizing, the maker’s mark was unfortunately lost; however, the artistry and design language are unmistakable.

The ring shows some wear consistent with age, most noticeable on the lioness’s muzzle and nose — a testament to having been worn and loved.
