For sale is a 14k yellow gold tiny skull pendant. The hand-crafted skull with sharp cheek bones and a hollow nose glares balefully at you with sunken diamond eyes.
Memento mori were popular in the 17th century as mourning jewelry, to help the living to remember their loved ones who had departed. By wearing this pendant, a young widow could let everyone know that she was in mourning for her lost love.
The pendant is open in the back, with holes on the sides to accommodate the free silver chain it comes with or your own chain. This pendant can be worn alone, or layered with other small pendants.
As the photos show, we have a companion ring available in our store. The ring is NOT included in the sale of the pendant.
