14k Gold Repousse Maiden w Flowers Diamond Pendant. Art Nouveau

For sale is a 14k yellow gold repousse pendant featuring a maiden, flowers, and a tiny rose-cut diamond. This antique Art Nouveau pendant was converted by my jeweler from a cufflink set. The identical matching pendant is also available.) The pendant is a large very slightly domed oval with a detailed, finely crafted design. 

This style of craftsmanship is called repousse, and is created by hammering the pattern from the reverse side. The maiden is rendered in profile.  Fine details are intricately rendered, including her swirling long hair and gently curving smile. What is the source of her bliss? A lovely, fragrant daisy. She breathes in the delicate floral scent, and wears a larger daisy in her hair.

Beneath the flower, a small, rose-cut diamond is held securely in a bezel setting. The edges of the oval pendant are embellished with elegant and unusual patterns like swirling silk ribbons.  The pendant has an attached bail to accommodate your chain.  This is a romantic, unusual, beautifully crafted pendant. It can be worn alone or layered with other necklaces.

The item shows normal wear for a pre-owned piece (light scratches, dings, dents and scuff marks.)
