For sale is a 14k yellow gold pendant representing the mysterious Phaistos artifact from ancient Greece.  Believed to be a religious tribute to the goddess of love, this well-crafted pendant is beautifully carved with the intricate nested designs of the exquisite artifact. The pendant is a slightly domed circle. All parts of the pendant are solid 14k yellow gold.   The pendant has an articulated bail to accommodate your chain.  

The Phaistos disc was an ancient artifact found on the island Crete in the castle Phaistos.  The Phaistos disk was formed from clay that was decorated with a spiral of stamped symbols.  Although archaeologists have made many attempts to decipher the code behind the disc's signs, the meaning of the symbols is not known. A recent expert in Crete has theorized that the symbols are a religious text, referring to Astarte, the goddess of love.

The item shows normal wear for a pre-owned piece (light scratches, dings, dents and scuff marks.)
