14k Yellow Gold Flying Winged Pegasus Pendant. Art Deco. Large 1"

For sale is a 14k yellow gold pegasus pendant.  The pendant is large (1") and hollow but sturdy.  The horse is depicted at full gallop, with legs and tail extended.  The pegasus has two distinct wings that are engraved with Deco stylized feather details.  This pegasus is similar to the Mobil pegasus symbol, but it is not the same.  Pegasus is a symbol of wisdom, fame and poetic inspiration.  Below is some of the lore about pegasus from Greek mythology.

 

According to Wikipedia, Pegasus is a mythical winged divine stallion, and one of the most recognized creatures in Greek mythology. Usually depicted as pure white, Pegasus is a child of the Olympian god Poseidon and the gorgon Medusa. Symbolic of wisdom and fame, Pegasus became associated with poetry around the 19th century, as the fountainhead of sources from which the poets gained their inspiration.
