For sale is a 14k yellow gold and carved red tourmaline Ganesha pendant.  Ganesha, the Hindu god with the head of an elephant, is revered as the remover of obstacles, a bringer of good luck, and a god of wisdom and new beginnings (see more about Ganesha below.)  This tiny antique pendant is hand-carved in a translucent tourmaline gemstone with rich pomegranate red color.  Ganesh is presented in three-dimensional detail. He sits calmly in a meditative lotus pose with knees crossed.  His closed eyes and curving trunk are clearly depicted.  The gemstone is securely set in a hand-crafted gold bezel frame.  You can see the tourmaline from the back and bottom sides of the pendant. I have added a 14k gold spring ring clasp as a bail to accommodate your chain.  This pendant is lovely, and quite unusual.  Fun to wear alone, and also can be layered with other small pendants.

Ganesha is one of the best-known and most worshipped deities in the Hindu religion. Although Ganesha has many attributes, he is readily identified by his elephant head. He is widely revered as the remover of obstacles and thought to bring good luck; the patron of arts and sciences; and the deva of intellect and wisdom. As the god of beginnings, he is honored at the start of rites and ceremonies. Ganesha is also invoked as a patron of letters and learning during writing sessions.
