14k Yellow Gold Carved MOP Birds Chinese Gambling Chip OMEGABACK Earrings

For sale is a pair of 14k yellow gold carved mother of pearl Chinese gaming chip omegaback earrings.  These antique earrings are large and beautifully carved and pierced.  The mother of pearl has intact nacre with a wonderful rainbow iridescence.  Each earring features a large, powerful sea bird (cormorant?) depicted in profile.  Each earring has been pierced and engraved with many co-centric rows of elaborate designs, like a mandala.  Each earring is securely set in hand-crafted prongs.  The earrings fasten with omegabacks that fasten crisply.  These beautifully crafted earrings attract attention with their large size, intricate engraving, and glowing iridescence.

The item shows normal wear for a pre-owned piece (light scratches, dings, dents and scuff marks.)
