For sale is a 14k yellow gold carved mother of pearl Chinese gaming chip pendant. Part of the Sea Green Mermaid Reimagined Vintage Collection, we had our jeweler transform a pair of earrings into two fabulous pendants so they could be worn and enjoyed.
This antique pendant is large and beautifully carved and pierced. The mother of pearl has intact nacre with a wonderful rainbow iridescence. At the center of the pendant a large, powerful sea bird (cormorant?) is depicted in profile. The outer edge of the pendant is pierced and engraved with many co-centric rows of elaborate designs, like a mandala.
The mother of pearl disk is securely set in hand-crafted prongs. This beautifully crafted pendant attracts attention with its large size, intricate engraving, and glowing iridescence.
