14k Yellow Gold Carved Honey Bear Netsuke Pendant. 1.5"

For sale is a 14k yellow gold carved honey bear pendant.  I fell in love with this chubby honey bear as soon as I saw it.  The little bear is as round as a ball, carved from fine-grain cherry wood and stained black.  Netsuke have been hand-carved by Japanese artisans since in the 17th century.  This netsuke has been suspended from a 14k yellow gold bail so it can be worn as a pendant.  The bear has a sweet innocence and vulnerability that is completely charming.  She holds one massive, honey-covered paw up to her mouth, hoping to take a delicious taste. She seems to be looking up at you, perhaps slightly guilty?  Maybe this is forbidden, stolen honey?   The bear is carved in all dimensions.  She has sweet facial features and ears.  I love the way the artist has carved her arms and legs to create a full sphere with her body and head.  The pendant is suspended from a large 14k gold bail to accommodate your chain.   This is such an unusual antique pendant.  This sweet honey bear will keep you company wherever you go!
