14k Yellow Gold Carved Australian Opal Guanyin Quan Yin Goddess Pendant *VIDEO*

For sale is a 14k yellow gold pendant with a carved Australian opal.  The opal has been delicately hand-carved with the revered Quan Jin or Guanyin goddess.  Guanyin is the goddess of mercy and compassion (see below).  The goddess sits in a prayer pose, facing forward with hands clasped.  She has a halo above her head, and layered waves seem to rise from her.  This is a classic Australian white opal, that flashes with brilliant cherry red and tangerine fire in sunlight.  The opal is set in a gold frame, held in place by three prongs.  The pendant has an articulated bail to accommodate your chain.  This is such an unusual, elegant, and beautifully crafted pendant!

Guanyin is the Buddhist bodhisattva associated with COMPASSION.  Guanyin also refers to the BODHISATTVA as adopted by other Eastern religions. She was first given the appellation of "goddess of Mercy" or the Mercy goddess by Jesuit missionaries in China.
