For sale is an Australian crystal opal bead necklace with a 14k yellow gold clasp. This antique necklace has classic beauty. The round opals are graduated in size, and interspersed with small faceted crystals. The opals are old-fashioned hand-carved white opals. The opals appear opaque milky white in dim light. In bright light you can see tiny sparks, veins, and pinpricks of color on close examination. The opals are very old, and show some fleabites and interior cracks (see photo.) This choker length necklace is elegant and classic. The necklace fastens with an antique 14k gold filigree fishhook clasp.
