For sale is an unusual artisan sterling silver and 14k yellow gold shield ring with wonderfully intricate openwork detailing. This is a bold statement ring, but the delicate scrolling gold design gives it an elegant, almost lace-like quality.

The sterling silver ring has a broad oval shield-shaped front that gradually tapers toward the back of the finger. The silver has a softly beaten or hammered finish with a raised edge, giving the ring a beautifully hand-crafted appearance.

At the center is an elaborate scrolling filigree design cut from a solid piece of 14k yellow gold and soldered securely to the silver.
