14k White Gold Cats Eye Moonstone Ring w Diamonds & Sapphire**VIDEO**

For sale is a 14k white gold ring with a cats eye moonstone and diamond and blue sapphire accents.  This ring features an oval moonstone with "chatoyancy," the ghostly "cats eye" that moves under the surface of the gemstone.  In sunlight or bright indoor light the moonstone displays a white line curving from the bottom to the top of the stone, and shifts from left to right as you move the moonstone in the light.  The moonstone is framed on both sides by a trio of sparkly gemstones; two round diamonds and one vibrant blue sapphire.  The gemstones are all secure in prong settings.  The gemstones are all slightly elevated in a raised basket setting, allowing a maximum of light to reflect and refract of each gem.  This ring is a classic.  It is also extremely versatile, as the neutral moonstone can be combined beautifully with gold, diamond and gemstone jewelry.  The ring is currently a small size (4.25) and can be resized by your jeweler for a reasonable price.

Chatoyance is an optical phenomenon in which a band of reflected light, known as a "cat's-eye," moves just beneath the surface of a cabochon-cut gemstone.  Chatoyance occurs in stones that contain a large number of very thin parallel inclusions within the stone, known as a "silk." The light reflects from these inclusions to form a thin band across the surface of the stone. The band of light always occurs at right angles to the length of the parallel inclusions.
