For sale is a pair of 14k yellow gold earrings set with natural blue sapphires and diamonds. This lovely and rare antique earrings feature oval cut sapphires with a wonderful shade of ceylon (or cornflower) blue with glowing translucence.
The sapphires are natural and may have been heat treated. They have zoning visible upon magnification. Each has a "garden" of natural inclusions. Each emerald is framed by a halo of tiny white diamonds. The diamonds are natural, sparkly and eye-clear with natural inclusions visible with magnification.
The diamonds add a lovely touch of sparkle as well as old-world charm. All the gemstones are secure in prong settings. The earrings fasten securely with 14k yellow gold butterfly backs.
