14k Gold "Little MERMAID" Hans C. Anderson Pendant. 1.5" Teardrop

For sale is a 14k yellow gold pendant featuring a tiny sculpture of Denmark's famous "Little Mermaid" from the story by Hans Christian Anderson. The mermaid sits on a rock with her knees tucked to her side and one arm draped across her body.  Her body is twisting slightly to one side, and she has a wistful, almost sad expression.  Maybe longing? 

Her body, hair and facial features are rendered simply, but with gentle elegance.  She perches on a rounded rock that is surrounded by the engraved ocean waves.  The mermaid is fully carved on all sides, 360 degrees.  She is set inside a large gold teardrop shaped frame. 

The pendant dangles from a 14k gold articulated bail.  The pendant is solid gold, not hollow. Whether you love the Danish children's story, or you simply love mermaids, this hand-crafted pendant is a wonderful, one of a kind find!
