For sale is a 14k yellow gold and carved lemon citrine Ganesha pendant.  Ganesha, the Hindu god with the head of an elephant, is revered as the remover of obstacles, a bringer of good luck, and a god of wisdom and new beginnings (see more about Ganesha below.) 

This antique pendant is hand-carved in a translucent citrine gemstone in a glowing shade of lemon yellow.  Ganesh is presented in three-dimensional detail. He sits calmly in a meditative lotus pose with knees crossed.  His calm face, closed eyes and curving trunk are clearly depicted.  The 14k gold back of the pendant has been carved in an intricate, lovely design. 

The gemstone is securely set in a hand-crafted gold frame.  You can see the citrine from the back and bottom sides of the pendant. The pendant has an articulated bail to accommodate your chain.  This pendant is lovely, and quite unusual.

Ganesha is one of the best-known and most worshipped deities in the Hindu religion. Although Ganesha has many attributes, he is readily identified by his elephant head. He is widely revered as the remover of obstacles and thought to bring good luck; the patron of arts and sciences; and the deva of intellect and wisdom. As the god of beginnings, he is honored at the start of rites and ceremonies. Ganesha is also invoked as a patron of letters and learning during writing sessions.
