14k Gold Asymmetrical Crescent Moon Open Ring. MCM Modernist 10g

For sale is a striking 14k yellow gold modernist crescent moon open ring with a rutilated quartz cabochon. The designer "PR" is unknown to me, but the ring has similar design to Danish modern designers such as Georg Jensen.

This exceptional ring is hand-crafted and one of a kind with a sculptural, designer look. The asymmetrical design ring is made from an open, wide gold band that widens out to a crescent moon on one end and an oblong rutilated quartz cabochon on the other.

The quartz cabochon has a high profile, and stands up high on the hand. The band of the ring is solid and the moon has a hollow area inside it. There is a small hole on the inside of the band behind the crescent moon (see magnified photo.) There is a lot of gold in this ring, and the area inside the ring behind the stone and moon is solid gold.

This striking and unusual ring has a wonderful hand-feel. Despite its asymmetry and large size it is easy and comfortable to wear. The ring makes a big statement and is a true conversation starter. You will never find one quite like this again!
