10k Yellow Gold Repousse DOG Watch Key Fob Pendant. Victorian

For sale is a 10k yellow gold watch key fob pendant with a hunting dog figure. This Victorian antique key was originally used to wind a gentleman's pocket watch, and was crafted with exquisite detail.

The key is intricately decorated on all sides with repousse and engraved designs. The dog sits at attention, as if listening for her master's call. Her torso has the exposed ribcage and sculpted lines of a whippet or similar hunting dog. Her ears, muscled haunches, curving legs,  muzzle, collar, and textured fur are delicately rendered.

The dog sits on a barrel shaped segment of the watch key that is decorated with an intricate raised pattern of baroque swirls and scrolls that is engraved on all sides of the watch key. The wide end of the pendant is a large flame shaped flourish of gold with lovely, curving repousse work.

The functional "key" is an open, unfinished opening at the end of the pendant. The pendant has a spring ring clasp bail to accommodate your chain. It would be attractive worn by a man or a woman. 

The item shows normal wear for a pre-owned piece (light scratches, dings, dents and scuff marks.)
