10k Yellow Gold Italy MicroMosaic Onyx LOVEBIRD Pendant w Chain.1.5" & 9g

For sale is a 10k yellow gold micro-mosaic lovebirds pendant in onyx with an attached 10k chain.  This pendant was crafted in Italy by one of a very small number of jewelers in the world skilled in the art of micro mosaic.  The pendant is a large flat oval of onyx that is polished smooth as glass. 

The onyx has been carved in the silhouette of the lovebirds, and the jeweler has inlaid tiny tiles to form the bodies, wings, heads and beaks of the two tiny birds.  The birds have white bodies and tan beaks and tails.  Each bird is made from several dozen tiny mosaic tiles.  The onyx is secure in a hand-crafted bezel setting. 

The pendant has two bails, and is attached on both sides to the designated gold chain.  The onyx has a small scratch just between and below the two birds.  The onyx also has a pin-prick nick below the bird on the left. I have included a magnified photos with a slanted view of the onyx that allows you to clearly see the marks on the surface.
